What is DATEVALUE function in Excel?

The DATEVALUE function is one of the Date & Time functions of Excel.

It Converts a date in the form of text to a number that represents the date in Microsoft Excel date-time code.

We can find this function in Date & Time of insert function Tab.

How to use DATEVALUE function in excel

  1. Click on an empty cell (like F5).

3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.

4. Select Date & Time category.

5. Select DATEVALUE function

6. Then select ok.

7. In the function arguments Tab you will see DATEVALUE function.

8. Date text section is the text that represents a date in a Microsoft Excel date format, between 1/1/1900 or 1/1/1904 (depending on the workbook’s date system) and 12/31/9999.

9. You will see the result in the formula result section.
