What is DOLLAR function in Excel?

The DOLLAR function is one of the TEXT functions of Excel.

It Converts a number to text, using currency format.

We can find this function in TEXT category of the insert function Tab.

How to use DOLLAR function in excel

  1. Click on an empty cell (like F5).

2. Click on the fx icon (or press shift+F3).

3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.

4. Select TEXT category.

5. Select DOLLAR function

6. Then select ok.

7. In function arguments Tab you will see DOLLAR function.

8. Number section is a number, a reference to a cell containing a number, or a formula that evaluates to a number.

9. Decimals section is the number of digits to the right of the decimal point. The number is rounded as necessary; if omitted, Decimals = 2.

10. You will see the results in the formula result section.
