What is FIXED function in Excel?

The FIXED function is one of the TEXT functions of Excel.

It Rounds a number to the specified number of decimals and returns the result as text with or without commas.

We can find this function in TEXT category of the insert function Tab.

How to use FIXED function in excel

  1. Click on an empty cell (like F5).

2. Click on the fx icon (or press shift+F3).

3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.

4. Select TEXT category.

5. Select FIXED function

6. Then select ok.

7. In function arguments Tab you will see FIXED function.

8. Number section is the number you want to round and convert to text.

9. Decimals section is the number of digits to the right of the decimal point. If omitted, Decimals = 2.

10. No commas section is a logical value: do not display commas in the returned text = TRUE; do display commas in the returned text = FALSE or omitted.

11. You will see the results in the formula result section.
