What is the PROPER function in Excel?
The PROPER function is one of the TEXT functions of Excel.
It Converts a text string to proper case; the first letter in each word to uppercase, and all other letters to lowercase.
We can find this function in TEXT category of the insert function Tab.
How to use PROPER function in excel
- Click on an empty cell (like F5).
2. Click on the fx icon (or press shift+F3).
3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.
4. Select TEXT category.
5. Select PROPER function
6. Then select ok.
7. In the function arguments Tab you will see PROPER function.
8. Text section is the text enclosed in quotation marks, a formula that returns text, or a reference to a cell containing text to partially capitalize.
9. You will see the results in the formula result section.
