What is TIMEVALUE function in Excel?

The TIMEVALUE function is one of the Date & Time functions of Excel.

It Converts a text time to an Excel serial number for a time, a number from 0 (12:00:00 AM) to 0.999988426 (11:59:59 PM).

Format the number with a time format after entering the formula.

We can find this function in Date & Time of insert function Tab.

How to use TIMEVALUE function in excel

  1. Click on an empty cell (like F5).

3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.

4. Select Date & Time category.

5. Select TIMEVALUE function

6. Then select ok.

7. In the function arguments Tab you will see TIMEVALUE function.

8. Time text is a text string that gives a time in any one of the Microsoft Excel time formats(date information in the string is ignored).

9. You will see the result in the formula result section.
