What is the UPPER function in Excel?


The UPPER function is one of the TEXT functions of Excel.

It Converts a text string to all uppercase letters.

We can find this function in TEXT category of the insert function Tab.

How to use UPPER function in excel

  1. Click on an empty cell (like F5).

2. Click on the fx icon (or press shift+F3).

3. In the insert function tab you will see all functions.

4. Select TEXT category.

5. Select UPPER function

6. Then select ok.

7. In the function arguments Tab you will see UPPER function.

8. Text section is the text you want to be converted to uppercase, a reference or a text string.

9. You will see the results in formula result section.
